World Photography Day

Today, August 19th is world photography day. Eight years ago (in 2016) I took an interest in photography, mainly to take photos of birds. But when I realized that photography was a form of art, and that I could express myself artistically through this medium, I was hooked. Since then I have spent time, energy, and resources honing my craft, finding species that I had not yet had the opportunity to photograph, and finding new ways to photograph more common species that can be found more easily and readily right nearby. A great friend of mine told me once "shoot to make yourself happy" and that advice has stuck with me though the years. I make my art to make me happy. And if others enjoy my work, that is a bonus. In addition to making art, I also very much enjoy being immersed in the created world. Every detail reminds me of the God of the Bible who spoke everything into existence by the word of His power. Whether I am in the thick woods, or on a mountaintop, I am constantly in awe of His creative vision.

So today, want to share some of my more memorable photos to celebrate World Photography Day. And in so doing, bring honor and glory to the one who created it all. The God of Israel. The one who is, and was, and is to come. My king Yeshua (Jesus). I hope you enjoy!
